Course contents

Code Adventure covers an exciting introduction to Python and the design of video games. Students will learn to code while having fun with creating interactive projects. By the end of this course, they would have created their games, designed amazing visuals, and walked away confident in programming, having loads of fun!

Python, Turtles and Challenges

Modify any program by: Introducing bugs into working code to locate and eliminate many common errors. The process of planting flaws in coding sharpens debugging skills when each bug is hunted down and erased. When the bugs have been rooted out, refined code will emerge, beautiful, and capable of executing its intended purpose with far fewer mistakes. Introduce faults to fix faults-the results can be quite impressive: solid, robust, and production-ready software.

Maze Challenge

By leading a Turtle through challenging mazes, they will develop a solid foundation in coding and logical thinking. They can proficiently code the Turtle while developing problem-solving abilities and computational thinking through the navigation of different maze configurations and obstacles. Critical thinking will be enhanced by debugging, testing, and breaking down challenges into steps.

Creative Coders

Students will draw shapes by using lines, circles, dots, and symbols. The students will be taught the basics of Python and Turtle graphics, which can be used to create shape drawings. Then, experiment with different shapes, colors, sizes, creating unique designs.

Design Stunning Artwork

Students create artwork that can be quite beautiful. First, learners know how to write code that continuously repeats a series of steps. Then, students do practice work to determine how to build looping shapes. Once students understand how to form patterns, they will use the Random library to develop colorful pieces.

Create a Word Game

Students learn to create a Word Game using Python. They are made to declare variables that store and alter user inputs to come up with silly sentences. This will strengthen their understanding of string concatenation, manipulation, and input.

Funfair Game

Students will be designing a game, like those they would find in an amusement park, using conditionals and loops. The activity will use the conditionals and loops with some programming concepts, such as random numbers, booleans, and if/else statements, to determine who wins a prize. They will be given examples and instructions so that they can use their own imagination to design their amusement park game.
